Dub Rotation...

Our next track for Jah Love, Dub Rotation, is near completion. It's funny. This track took us 4-5 sessions to actually get to the arrangement phase. That entire time was spent refining a single loop (my wife was probably bouncing off the walls by the time we were done with it!) Then, the last two sessions have been solid arrangement, and after two arrangement sessions, we are near completion. It sounds super tight. Some very interesting synth work (For example, taking a pad, doing a slow sine-wave high-pass filter on it (over maybe 16 beats in each direction) then placing some tremelo phasing effects on it, then placing a sidechain compressor on it, triggered by a 4 on the floor kick to get it stuttering in a very cool way... and then sending that stutter to a dubbed out delay... wow, hard to explain, but really cool to hear!)

Very even track too. I am very happy about this, especially because it is our second all-original tune and I think it far surpasses our last one.

Raygun - The Remixes EP

I got a packet with all of the tracks to be released on the upcoming "Raygun - The Remixes EP" on Night Drive Music. In all, there are eleven tracks. My original "1st of the year" track, as well as EIGHT remixes of the track. Artists remixing include Jeff Bennett, Neurotron/Andre Kronert, M. Rahn, The Messenger and Cristian Paduraru. Paduraru also does a remix of my "Velosophy" track from a Night Drive release of mine a few years back.

Very exciting stuff. Just got an opportunity to remix another track for the folks at Tarantic too.

Not to mention, Ivan-I and I are pluggin' away on an original tune for Jah Love. Wow. I feel full.
