Forward progress

Churning forward. Here's the news:

Finished a remix of my own 1st of the Year original tune for Night Drive Music. Ivan-I and I spent about 1 month on a remix of the track, and turned out a nice dubby version of the track. I've heard about 5-6 different artists remixes of the track and I gotta say, this remix EP is going to be solid... Covers a lot of ground, and every track is very different, even though it all comes from the same sample set. Stoked for this one.

Popcorn is coming along. I've slowed down a bit on it, focusing more time with Ivan... but it's still pretty strong. I need to fill up some space in the track. But I like where it's heading.

Ivan-I and I have been asked to remix another track for Tarantic which we started last week. Our process seems to be spending the first session finding good sounds, blending beats and forming a foundation... a kick ass loop. Think of it like this. You spend your first few hours creating what the sound will sound like when it's really kickin. Then you spend later sessions working on how it gets to that point. It's a great approach that I've never done before working with this guy. Cool stuff. Should be a more upbeat housey track as early indications go.

Still talks about a full length CD for next year through Jah Love. More on that as solid indicators arise.
