Another one 24-bits the dust...
Ivan and I finished our latest remix, Cristian Paduraru's The Grateful Seeker, on Friday. We both agree this is our smoothest production yet, and it really has us amped. This will see a release on our (long forthcoming) Night Drive remix EP for "First of the Year." Man, this has been a long time coming, but it sounds like there are some amazing remixes of the title track including a "solid" remix by Jeff Bennett. Very excited.
We are in the process of coming up with a name for our production team. On all of the last releases, it has flopped around: Ivan-I & Jason H, Dub Theory & Jason Howell, etc.... So a new name is forthcoming. We want our new tracks, which sound much more polished than all of our stuff before it, to be represented with a new name.
Started a new track. An original. These are so hard to get traction on from the get-go. At least with remix parts, you know you must include some of them so it's easier to start building a foundation around some of the chosen sounds from the pack. When you start from sratch, you really have to stumble on that "sound" or direction. A lot of experimentation, which can
either be a rewarding or frustrating experience. So far, we have a solid beat foundation. We need to find our melody, a hook to last through the track to keep it moving and NOT stagnate.
